[edit] Types
Stock sound effects are often used in cartoons, especially older shows. On television shows, when characters are watching a show on television or playing a video game, stock sounds are often used. Stock sounds used in television productions include human sounds such as coughs or screams, animal sounds, thunder, gunshots, and explosions. The ‘Eagle’ screech, a recording of a Red Tailed Hawk, is often used when the picture cuts to a desolate wilderness scene.
