The String Quartet No. 6 in F minor, Op. 80, was composed by Felix Mendelssohn in 1847 and is essentially his last major composition (he died only two months after its completion). The piece was composed after the death of his sister Fanny and is powerful and highly emotive.

Like all of Mendelssohn's string quartets, this work has four movements:

  1. Allegro vivace assai
  2. Allegro assai
  3. Adagio
  4. Finale: Allegro molto
