Sub Station II[1] is a small sandwich shop chain started in Sumter, South Carolina by three brothers, Don, John and Charlie Ruffalo. Their original unit, The Sub Station, opened in May 1975.
The first Sub Station II franchise facility was opened in Charleston, South Carolina, by Jimmy Cimino in January 1976. The second franchise facility was opened in Sumter, South Carolina, by Donald Wand later that year.
Sub Station II[2] now has 58 units operating in North & South Carolina, Georgia, Kentucky, Tennessee and Virginia.
