Sun Journal (New Bern)

The Sun Journal is the daily newspaper in New Bern, North Carolina, United States.
The newspaper began publishing in 1914. In 1974 it was acquired by Freedom Communications, Inc.
The Sun Journal has a daily circulation of 14,000 and a Sunday circulation of 15,000. It was a broadsheet-format daily until June 1, 2009, when it and two sister dailies, the Kinston Free Press, Kinston, North Carolina and the Jacksonville, North Carolina Daily News converted to a berliner-style format.
The current publisher is Vernon DeBolt and its managing editor is Randy Foster.
