A Superintendent or Deputy Commissioner is a rank in all police forces in India. The rank above it is SSP (Senior Superintendent of Police), the rank below it is Additional Superintendent or Additional Deputy Commissioner. A SP or DCP is an IPS officer in charge of a city, suburb or district. The salary of a superintendent is Rs.15,600.
