Symbiosis Centre for Management and Human Resource Development was started in 1993 under the aegis of the Symbiosis Society. SCMHRD started its functioning from Atur Centre in Model colony under the guidance of founder Director Prof M S Pillai. In 2006, SCMHRD came under the Symbiosis International University and started to offer an MBA degree. Symbiosis International University is an unaided Deemed University as conferred by the Department of Secondary & Higher Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India vide letter No. F.9-12/2001-U.3 dated 6 May 2002.[citation needed]

- Master of Business Administration (MBA): Two year full-time and residential with specializations provided in Human Resources, Marketing, Finance and Operations.
- Executive Master of Business Administration (Exe-MBA): Thirty months part-time for working professionals in and around Pune
- Post Graduate Diploma in Finance (PGDF) : One year part-time evening / weekend program
- Post Graduate Diploma in Business Analytics (PGDBA): One year part-time evening / weekend program
- Post Graduate Diploma in Information Technology (PGDIT) : One year part-time evening / weekend program
- Post Graduate Diploma in Operations Management (PGDOM) : One year part-time evening / weekend program
- Post Graduate Diploma in Marketing (PGDM) : One year part-time evening / weekend program

- The library is home to around 20,000 books, CDs, journals and magazines and also has an e-learning facility.[citation needed]
- The classrooms are computerized with Internet and LCD-projection facilities.
- The computer lab has over 150 computers which are networked and have broadband Internet access.
- A SAP Lab, where the students learn 'My SAP Business Suite'[citation needed]
- Oracle Lab with Oracle 9i installed for OCA DBA certification with certified trainers[citation needed]
- An Oracle ERP Lab plus training on other software such as SAS, Minitab, SPSS etc.[citation needed]

SCMHRD is located in the Rajiv Gandhi Infotech Park in Hinjewadi, near the city of Pune.
The institute is self-contained, with all essential amenities available to students within the campus.
- Residential facilities are available for all students enrolled in SCMHRD, with individual blocks available for male and female students. Double occupancy rooms with attached bathrooms are provided with all modern amenities.[citation needed]
- The campus is Wi-Fi enabled to provide the students with on-line anywhere.
- The Symbiosis Institute of Health Sciences (SIHS) runs a state-of-the-art health care centre on campus with a resident doctor in charge.
- A multi-cuisine mess with a capacity to host 500 students and a fast-food cafeteria cater to the needs and tastes of the assorted student community.
- The campus also has a modern gymnasium, an indoor swimming pool and the institute also conducts Yoga and Aerobics classes on campus.
- The campus is equipped with a modern auditorium for national and international seminars and on-campus events.
- Other facilities available on campus include a general store, a communication centre, laundry service, audio visual rooms and an ATM.
- Amongst other specialisations, SCMHRD is famous for producing the best breed of HR Managers at par with any other Management Institute. It is a regular hunting ground for some of the Best companies like ITC in the country.

This is the Annual Business School festival of SCMHRD. It includes a variety of events ranging from case studies to concerts, mock boardroom games to music performances, strategy games to street plays, online simulations to quizzes etc.

This is an annual event organised by the entrepreneurship cell, e-cell, in the month of February in association with National Entrepreneurship Network. The event is a week long affair and has some guest lectures, entrepreneur visits, quizzes, idea contest, e-sell game, etc.
[edit] Sakal Six Sigma Awards
SCMHRD, with Six Sigma & Advanced Controls (SAC), USA, established these awards to recognize and award people in different industries for having pioneered the implementation and execution of various Six Sigma initiatives, thereby extending the scope of Six Sigma methodology globally.The seminar redefines benchmarks across the industry for efficiency and excellence. It is organised by the Operations batch of SCMHRD.

This conclave focuses on various challenges facing the banking community in order to formulate a course of action for the future. The latest gathering addressed issues relating to Bancassurance, Basel II Norms, Consolidation, and Foreign Banks. It is organized by the Finance Batch of SCMHRD.
