Symbiosis Institute of International Business better known as SIIB was etablished in 1992 as Symbiosis Institute of Foreign Trade. It is one of the prominent B-schools in India[citation needed] and is a constituent of Symbiosis International University

SIIB is the first autonomous Management institute in India to be accredited by the NAAC (National Assessment and Accreditation Council)with 'A' Grade set up by Universities Grants Commission (UGC).[citation needed]

[edit] Masters in Business Administration - International Business [MBA-IB]
This is the flagship program of the school and the students are offered functional specialization in Marketing Management, Financial Management, Supply Chain Management, Human Resource Management.Information Technology is also offered, however as a functional non-specialization.In addition to the regular management subjects students are offered compulsory language courses in anyone of the languages among Spanish, French, Mandarin and German.

The program broadly covers marketing, (emphasis on rural marketing and retail management) finance, (emphasis on micro finance, commodity trading and lending and risk management) supply chain management, logistics in retail and taxation. It also details all the relevant and applicable fields of Agriculture and WTO, Agri-export-import and agricultural finance. Agri-business explores production, marketing and trading of products related to agriculture and critical management issues such as financing and technical assistance, preparation of products for exports, overseas marketing issues and government policy

This is a two year full time residential programme. The programme is designed for young graduates looking for exciting opportunities in emerging sectors. The program primarily focuses attention on both Energy & Environment and equip aspiring global managers with managerial, economic, legal and relevant technical competence. They will serve as experts who provide the link between the worlds of technology and business.
[edit] Post Graduate Diploma in International Business Management [PGDIBM]
This a one-year, part time, evening programme, designed for Executives at the middle / junior level in public / private sector organizations and entrepreneurs desirous of entering the field of exports in the changing global scenario. The emphasis of the entire programme is to enable the students, on completion of this programme, to take up more challenging assignments in their companies, enhance their promotional prospects or to start an export-import business of their own.
[edit] Post Graduate Diploma in Agri Business Management [PGDABM]
This a one-year, weekend programme, designed for graduates in agriculture and relevant fields who are deprieved of the formal training in management and who now desire to pursue their education for enhancing their overall capabilities without leaving their existing profession/service.

The institute has developed affiliations with international universities - Bremen University, Oakland University and Berlin School of Economics and Law for faculty and student exchange programs.

Earlier the institute was situated in Symbiosis Infotech Campus (SIC) and was sharing Building infrastructure with other sister institutes SCMHRD and SCIT at the Rajiv Gandhi Infotech Park at Hinjewadi, Pune. From October 2010 The institute has moved to a standalone campus, around 100 metres away from the Symbiosis Infotech Campus.
- The institute shares all the facilities with the sister schools SCIT and SCMHRD except the academic campus at the Symbiosis Infotech Campus (SIC) at Rajiv Gandhi Infotech Park at Hinjewadi, Pune.
- Residential facilities are available for all students enrolled in SIIB, with individual blocks available for male and female students. Triple occupancy rooms with attached bathrooms are provided with all modern amenities.[citation needed].First year male students of all the three institutes (SCIT, SCMHRD and SIIB) are required to stay in the D-Hostel which is around 700 Meters from the SIC campus.All female students resides in the B and C hostels situated in SIC campus while all senior male students are accommodated in A-Hostel situated in SIC campus too
- The Institute as well as Hostel campuses are fully connected to Internet using High speed Wi-Fi networks.
- The Symbiosis Institute of Health Sciences (SIHS) runs a state-of-the-art health care centre on campus with a resident doctor in charge is situated in SIC campus.
- A multi-cuisine mess with a capacity to host 500 students and a fast-food cafeteria cater to the needs and tastes of the assorted student community.
- The SIC campus has a modern gymnasium and an indoor swimming pool. Yoga and Aerobics classes are also conducted in the campus.
- Other facilities available on SIC campus include a general store, a communication centre, laundry service, audio visual rooms and an State Bank of India ATM.
- Regular Bus service is run by the Symbiosis Society from the SIC campus to Pune City for the convenience of Student and faculty members of all the three schools i.e., SIIB, SCMHRD, and SCIT.

The Academic Block is a 3-storied Building, which houses modern classrooms, a students' committee room, a common room, discussion rooms, a computer lab, an MDP center and an auditorium with a seating capacity of 350 persons.
The SIIB library has a collection of more than 9000 books. It has subscription to more than 100 periodicals. The library is equipped with EBSCO and CMIE databases and DELNET facilities.In addition to this the library has a loan arrangement with SCMHRD and SCIT libraries for books. The students can also apply for membership of the British Library through the institutes library.

Leadership Series
Every year SIIB organizes the "Leadership Series" as a platform for interaction between its students and Industry leaders. It is a one day event, which is a confluence of the great minds from the various industrial sectors, all of which serve as a rendezvous for the corporate and the academia. This helps the students gain the much needed industry insights, adding to their learning process.
The Leadership Series of 2009 saw the extension to a yet new dimension of inviting eminent speakers from diverse professions apart from the corporate leaders to advertisers. With the theme "Entrepreneurship", 2009 series was marked by the presence of esteemed speakers like Mr. Ravi Pandit (Chief Guest), Chairman and Group CEO KPIT Cummins Infosystem; Mr. P. P. Chhabria, Chairman, Finolex Cables Ltd, Mr. Navin Suri. CEO, ING Investments, India; Mr. David Wiitenberg, The Innovation Workgroup, New Delhi; Mr. Ravi Deshpande, Chairman and Chief Creative Officer, Contract Advertising, India and Mr. Abhijeet Ranade, Associate Director, Price Waterhouse Coopers.
Leadership Series 2010: Leadership Series moved a step further in the year 2010 in terms of magnitude of program and Pre-Event programs were introduced on the eve of Leadership Series Day.
It touched new heights with eminent speakers like Mr.Sachin Pilot, Minister of State for Telecommunications & IT, Mr.Rajiv Bajaj, MD-Bajaj Auto, Ms.Anu Agha, Director Thermax Ltd, Ms.Mehar Padumjee, Chairperson Thermax Ltd, Dr.Parag Sancheti, Director Sancheti Hospital, graced the stage. Theme for the Event was "Taking the Mantle" which was aptly and diligently dealt by the honorable speakers. Mr.Naveen Chandani, MD, Experian Services Pvt Ltd was awarded Sarvashrestha Award. This is highest honour given to an Alumni from the institute for Excellence and Leadership. Official Video for the event was produced by AV Crafts, a venture started by students of SIIB,Pune.
