Symphony No. 3 (Ustvolskaya)

The Symphony No. 3 (subtitled "Jesus Messiah, Save Us") by Galina Ustvolskaya was published in 1983. It is based on the texts of the 11th century German monk and musician Hermanus Contractus and scored for: groups of five oboes, trumpets and double basses; three tubas; a trombone; percussion (three drums); piano; and solo voice, which sings an appeal for salvation. The work lasts approximately 15 minutes.
