World Council of Arameans ,[1] (Syriac: ܚܘܝܕܐ ܣܘܪܝܝܐ ܬܒܝܠܝܐ Ḥuyādā Suryāyā Tbelāyā) earlier known as Syriac Universal Alliance, was founded in 1983 in New Jersey, USA. It is an ethnic Aramean, (also known by a minority as "Syriac"), umbrella organization for the people who call themselves Arameans and for all organizations who identify themselves as Arameans throughout the world.[1]

"The World Council of Arameans (Syriacs) is dedicated to answer the call to protect and secure the rights, liberty and equality of the Aramean people, safeguard and promote the cultural heritage of its ancestors, ensuring justice, and uniting all its people as a self‐determined and internationally recognized Aramean nation."[3]
