World Council of Arameans (Syriacs),[citation needed] (Syriac: ܚܘܝܕܐ ܣܘܪܝܝܐ ܬܒܝܠܝܐ Ḥuyādā Suryāyā Tbelāyā) earlier known as Syriac Universal Alliance, was founded in 1983 in New Jersey, USA. It is an ethnic Syriac (Aramean) umbrella organization for the people who call themselves Syriacs (Arameans) and for all organizations who identify themselves as Syriacs (Arameans) throughout the world.[1]

Mission[edit]

"The Syriac Universal Alliance is dedicated to answer the call to protect and secure the rights, liberty and equality of the Syriac people, safeguard and promote the cultural heritage of its ancestors, ensuring justice, and uniting all its people as a self‐determined and internationally recognized Syriac (Aramean) nation."[3]
