TISFAT (stands for This Is Stick Figure Animation Theatre) is a free stick figure animation tool made in Delphi by 'NoshBar' (Dirk de la Hunt).
- Particle blood system
- Stick figures
- CAS Engine (CAS stands for Create A Scene. It is a physics engine in Tisfat.)
Other features include:
- Custom stick figures, with the ability to attach bitmaps to limbs, enabling South Park styled animations
- Create-A-Scene, the ability to create a short animation segment using the Chipmunk physics engine
Stick figures feature inverse kinematics, so limbs react realistically when dragged (however, holding ctrl and clicking on a joint will 'lock' it), and as TISFAT uses tweening for animation, only the initial and final poses need to be set, and TISFAT calculates the rest (though frame by frame animation is possible).
TISFAT is used by many young animators, numerous animations and tutorials are available on youtube. When using TISFAT it is suggested to have Windows Movie Maker or some similar program to add sounds and to edit movies. TISFAT is currently unable to import sounds, although this feature may be added in some future release.
The Development on the original TISFAT has been continued. TisfatTOO development, however, is stopped in the name of further development on TISFAT since TISFAT is much more stable than TisfatTOO. TisfatTOO will use physics simulations to make realistic animations. The developer has also recently started work on a similar software for tablets.
The TISFAT Deciphering Project, also known as "TISFAT:Zero" is a project started from scratch and based on code from the original TISFAT. The project belongs to The Sektorz Portal members NIRS and Ipquarx, using bits of code from the original TISFAT and building upon it, as well as improving it. With new and updated versions being released often, this proves to be the long-awaited "new TISFAT" the community has been waiting for, and currently the only project in the works. So far the project has fixed previous bugs and glitches from the original TISFAT software. Current plans are to improve it based on wish lists from members of the community, while keeping the code clear and the program lightweight and bug-free.
