The 50 Worst TV Shows of All Time is a list compiled by TV Guide for the cover story for the week of July 20, 2002.[1] The list following the magazine's much publicized list of the 50 greatest shows, along with TV Guide's 50 Greatest Game Shows of All Time.

It is composed mainly of several short-lived television programs. However, many have been skeptical of the addition of "guilty pleasure" shows such as Baywatch and perhaps the most controversial decision was placing Hogan's Heroes on the list (which enjoyed a six-year run in the late 60s and early 70s), which many believe did not deserve its ranking or to even be on the list at all considering it was a successful series. However, Steven Reddicliffe, TV Guide's editor-in-chief, predicting the criticism, told the Associated Press that "awful television shows are a storied part of our society" and "some of" the shows on the list are "very successful and are guilty pleasures." The Jerry Springer Show, which ranked as the worst TV show of all-time, would later use its ranking as somewhat of a source of pride, pointing it out often in advertisements for the show.
