[edit] Notable Ta'veren
- Current
- Historical
- Mabriam en Shereed
- Lews Therin Telamon
- Artur Hawkwing
NOTE: Rand is the strongest of the three current ta'veren and as such, has a greater pull on Mat and Perrin.
[edit] Ability
- No one is born ta'veren, they are made as the Wheel needs them.
- Ta'veren affects those around them inadvertently i.e. they can cause a person to fall off a house and then get up without a scratch on them, yet someone else can easily trip over a stick and break their neck. Any action that occurs to someone because of being in the proximity of someone who is Ta'veren is only what they might have done, however improbable. For instance, if said person would never have jumped off of a building, then being close to Ta'veren would not change it. However, if said person would have jumped off the building once in million times, then being near a Ta'veren might make the person jump off of the building because however improbable the action is, it is possible for such an event to occur.
- It is said that ta'veren can be tracked and located by their effect on the Pattern.
[edit] People with Talent to see Ta'veren
- Siuan Sanche - sees a glow around Rand in Fal Dara.[1]
- Logain Ablar - sees a glow around Rand in Caemlyn.[2]
- Nicola Treehill sees a glow around Mat in Salidar.[3]
- Alar, the Eldest Elder of Stedding Tsofu (an Ogier), can sense ta'veren, though dimly. [4]
[edit] The Seanchan
The Seanchan do not believe in the pattern or ta'veren and attribute the effects of the web to omens. Tuon interprets such beliefs as superstitions. [5]
