Tagoloan, Misamis Oriental
Tagoloan (Tagol-wan) is a 1st class according in income class municipality in the province of Misamis Oriental Philippines. According to the 2007 census, it has a population of 56,499 people in 11,773 households.
Tagoloan is located to the east of Cagayan de Oro City. It is residential and industrial municipality, it has 5 Highschool ,3 colleges and 2 hospitals.

Tagoloan is the first municipality east of Misamis Oriental. It is situated north of Municipality of Villanueva; South of Cagayan de Oro City; East of Malitbog, Bukidnon; and West of Macajalar Bay. It is about 19 kilometers from the provincial capital of Cagayan de Oro City. The municipality is divided into ten barangays, namely: Poblacion, Baluarte, Casinglot. Sta Ana, Sta Cruz, Mohon, Sugbongcogon, Rosario, Gracia, and Natumolan. In today’s generation under the leadership of Mayor Yevgeny Vincente “Bambi” Emano, Tagoloanons are believed to be an epitome of a spider. The physical aspects include the ten barangays of Tagoloan that adhere close to the administration. They are considered the local eyes of the Tarantula that are grouped to stir themselves in a sustainable mutual relationship thata among others includes security of their living and livelihood and like tarantula have their back and call on the head the deadly fangs.
There are many unique characteristics of a tarantula that can be found among lumad Tagoloanons. Tarantula is known for its nocturnal activities. Tagoloanons prosper in their lives because of their industriousness. They worked hard, and even do overtime work to earn extra income.
Tarantula’s web of many establishments has played a role of great contribution to its constituents. A tarantula can survive for many days if crisis strike in life. The people are warm and friendly, superb in hospitality, while tarantula is young, and he can easily be taught to survive under extenuating circumstances with an endeavor to help him independently.
For this reason, Tagoloan shall maintain her role as the heart and hub of industrialization of Misamis Oriental and the Cagayan-Iligan Corridor stretch. Together with its adjacent municipal-neighbor Villanueva, Tagoloan shall also strengthen its role as the regional industrial center of Region 10 – Northern Mindanao.
