TEN SPORTS (or Taj Entertainment Network) is a sports channel, widely broadcast in Asia. Key programming includes Cricket, Football and sports -entertainment shows viz.WWE. Ten Sports launched on April 1, 2002, and is now the world's premier sports channel for South Asians, reaching over 55 million homes across the Sub-continent, Middle East, Europe & Asia.
TAJ Entertainment Network is currently in the process of down-linking of their two new channels: "TEN Golf" and "TEN Sports 2", to India.

[edit] Transmission
The TAJ TV Network transmits three localized beams via the Intelsat 10 Satellite targeting India, Pakistan and the Middle East. The beams are also available throughout the Indian sub-continent (including Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal and Maldives, South-East Asia (including Hong Kong, Singapore and Indonesia and now available in Europe. Each beam is customized in terms of programming, scheduling, graphics, music, on-air promotions and marketing.

Ten Sports and media company NBC Universal launched a new, free, cricket-focused multi-platform sports portal, which made its debut with the Web cast coverage of the first match in the series between New Zealand and Sri Lanka on September 8, 2009. NBC Universal Digital Solutions (NBCUDS) will syndicate live cricket Web cast to its selected syndication partners for wider distribution. The portal will feature live Web cast of full cricket matches that encompass exclusive content from half of the world’s cricket boards, including Pakistan, Sri Lanka, West Indies, South Africa, Zimbabwe, Dubai, and Abu Dhabi.

Recent viewing data shows that the channel enjoys over 50% share of viewing of sports channels in India and the pattern is repeated across the region.
Ten Sports has acquired exclusive rights in various regions for many exciting sporting properties, including all international cricket matches from Pakistan, South Africa, Zimbabwe, Sri Lanka, West Indies and also venues such as Dubai Sports city, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah. It also covers all the premier hockey tournaments of FIH, US Open and Indian Open tennis, the ATP World Tour Masters 1000 and 500 series; UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League and other league football from the Netherlands and Scotland; the PGA Championship, the European, US and Indian PGA Tours; some of the richest horse races in the world, the MotoGP, as well as the sports-entertainment spectacle - World Wrestling Entertainment.
Ten Sports employs some of the world’s leading sports personalities and presenters who offer insights into every aspect of the sports they cover. Some of notable cricket experts include Mike Haysman, Ian Bishop, Dean Jones, Waqar Younis, Rameez Raja, Ian Chappell, Imran Khan, Ian Healy, Tony Greig.
Ten Sports is distributed exclusively to cable operators in India by Zee Turner Ltd and is also available on the Dish TV, Sun Direct,Airtel digital TV and Tata Sky DTH platforms.
Other channels produced and distributed by Taj Television include Cricket Plus (in North America), ART Prime Sports in the Middle East, Football Channel in Singapore and Goal TV 1 and Goal TV 2 in Asia.
[edit] Retransmissions of selected events
- Australia receives a live transmission of the TEN Sports broadcast of the Australia V Pakistan cricket ODIs in April and May 2009 on cable television station Fox Sports. Australia receives on air graphics of TEN Sports, as well as local commentary, however during drink and lunch breaks, Fox Sports returns Australian viewers to their studio for a panel discussion focusing on Australian developments, hosted by either Nick McArdle or Brendan Julian with two other panellists. Coverage begins live around 8:30pm Australian Eastern Time, ending around 5am the following day.

Note: The broadcast rights are generally signed to include all games hosted by a particular cricket board. This is important in Pakistan's case because the Pakistan Cricket Board often hosts "home" games in other countries (UAE, England, etc ...) due to security considerations. These games would be broadcast by TEN Sports as if they were held in Pakistan.
