[edit] Early life

Tajuddin Baba was orphaned at a young age and was raised by his maternal grandmother and uncle Abdul Rahman. He attended a Madrasah in Kamthi, near Nagpur, where he met Abdulla Shah who initiated him into the spiritual path. Shah gave him a dry fruit to eat, saying, "Eat less, sleep less, and speak less. Read Qur'an." With this, Tajuddin Baba is said[who?] to have lost his material consciousness and began to experience a sense of oneness or "Adwaita."

[edit] Birth

Tajuddin Baba’s mother was glad tidied  before his birth in which she was informed of the arrival of Tajuddin Aulia. She saw a vast ground inhabited by thousands of cities with infinite beings. This contains all the religions and nations. Its winter’s fortnight and the full moon are dazzling. Moon light had exhilarated and allured every mortal. Then Baba Tajuddin’s mother saw that moon feel into her lap. Tajuddin was born in the same year.

He openly spoke of spiritual concepts, and he was promptly committed to an insane asylum in Nagpur.[citation needed]

[edit] Reputation as a Sage

In the hospital he became widely regarded  as a sage and word spread outside of the hospital walls. Eventually people began to come to the hospital to see Tajuddin Baba. In time he was pardoned and the warden asked Tajuddin Baba to come and live with him in his own house as his presence had become a sign of local honor. Tajuddin Baba did not stay with the warden long, but eventually moved to Lal Mahal. He was honored by both Muslims and Hindus.[2] In 1915, Tajuddin met with Meher Baba and helped him to start his Avataric mission. Meher Baba later stated that Tajuddin Baba was a Qutub or Perfect Master.[3]

[edit] Successors

Tajuddin Baba had several successors. The first was Yousuf Shah Baba, whose original name was Abdul Kareem Shah. After meeting with Tajuddin Baba, Baba named him Yousef Shah and called him his son saying, "He is the key to my treasure".

Yousef Shah Baba is buried in Karachi, Pakistan. His successors were Albailay Shah Yousefi, Zaheen Shah Baba, and Mohammed Rafqiue Ahmed Al-Taji.[4]
