Takashima (高島市 Takashima-shi) is a city in Shiga Prefecture, Japan.
On November 30, 2004 the city had an estimated population of 56,220 and a density of 110 persons per square kilometres. The total area is 511 square kilometres.
The city was founded on January 1, 2005 upon the merging of Adogawa, Imazu, Makino, Shin'asahi, Takashima towns and Kutsuki village.
