Takoma is a Washington Metro station in Washington, D.C. on the Red Line. It is the last station within the District of Columbia on the eastern end of the line.

The station serves the area of Takoma Park, Maryland and the Takoma neighborhood of Washington, D.C. and is located in Northwest at Cedar Street and Carroll Street, just inside the District of Columbia.

Service began on February 6, 1978.
[edit] 2009 collision
On June 22, 2009, a southbound Metro train on the Red Line collided with another southbound train, which was stopped between the Takoma and Fort Totten stations, causing the deadliest accident in the system's history.[2]
