Anyone willing to dig up a reference for this probable hoax? Did a google search on Asim Butt and all the hits I got were mainly on the cricketer. If no one finds a reference within four-five days, I'm going to change it to the Scottish cricketer - how on earth can the pseudonym be "named after" him when it was used before he got a serious claim to fame? (which would be the 1999 Cricket World Cup) Sam Vimes 18:33, 20 August 2005 (UTC)

multiple names were popularised in the 70s - luther blissett wasn't used till the 90s ("Luther Blissett" is a multi-use pseudonym, an "open reputation" informally adopted and shared by hundreds of artists, hackers and social activists all over Europe since Summer 1994.) and asim butt after 2000 (eg The Karachi Stuckists, Est. 2005, Founder: Asim Butt )

That's not a reference to its use, it's a statement (although I made a google search on the Karachi Stuckists, and indeed, Asim Butt was the founder, but like all Pakistani names, quite a number of people can share the same name) without any backing up source. All the ones I can find on google is wikipedia mirrors. Care to help with a newspaper article or something? Sam Vimes 14:15, 24 August 2005 (UTC)

There's also a Karachi-based artist of the same name -- see Asim Butt (artist). Should there be a disambiguation page or a reference to the artist on the top of this page? ameel (talk) 13:09, 1 August 2008 (UTC)
