The oldest index in the world is DJIA(Dow Jones Industrial Average). NYSE(New York Stock Exchange) COMP began in 1939.

Hi, The index constituents lists Bharti Airtel as engaging in Telecom and Retail. This is not correct to the best of my knowledge. Bharti Enterprises, the holding company of Bharti Airtel has interests in Telecom and Retail, and the listed entity, Kishore Airtel does not engage in the same. [edit] Merge BSE SENSEX and Bombay Stock Exchange
Since the index is a part of the exchange, and movements in it impact the excchange whlie participation in the exchange impacts the index, I propose merging the two. Nshuks7 (talk) 07:44, 22 February 2011 (UTC)
- No way. An index and its exchange ought to have separate pages. For example, like NASDAQ-NASDAQ-100 or New York Stock Exchange-NYSE Composite Index. Aditya (talk) 16:26, 1 March 2011 (UTC)
