User:Huaiwei has continued to assert his point of view. The airport has characterised itself as being the first in rankings for airports in mainland China (e.g. the company claims it's the first among all airports in "全国" in 2002: [1] "旅客吞吐量达2715.97万人次...三大指标在全国各大机场均排名第一"). Nevertheless Huaiwei has tried his every effort to pull Hong Kong into the picture, whenever possible.. to any article. For many practical purposes Hong Kong and Macau are differentiated from the rest of the People's Republic of China, and this implies no incongruent of sovereignty. — Instantnood 19:04, 11 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Poised to grab title of #1 in the world

Due to the unprecidented growth of Beijing Capital International Airport at nearly 14% growth rate, wikipedia moderators and editors need to be on top of the latest statistics and update accordingly. Indeed, following this month's data, Beijing may very well take over the #1 position in the world in terms of busiest airport. The wikipedia pages on this topic will need to be changed very very soon, as this inevitably is going to happen in the next few weeks. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 134.48.162.127 (talk) 23:54, 25 April 2011 (UTC)

[edit] Untitled

It is certainly newsworthy that Beijing has overtaken HK as the busiest airport in the PRC, for it was the first time this has occured since the figures were released for the perior up to September 2005. What "point of view" am I trying to assert by doing so? 全国 means "the entire country". Does it mean Mainland China? You continue to attempt to add Mainland China into this article for no overwelmingly valid reason to do so other than to obviously trumpet the supposed "HK sovereignty" issue based on your whines above. Do you have proof that I am trying to push my POV?--Huaiwei 19:10, 11 December 2005 (UTC)
In what way is its position as the busiest in mainland China not notable, considering mainland China is an economy by itself? Is the airport politically incorrect to have made that statement? There are many more sources saying 全国 while excluding Hong Kong, Macau and territories under ROC administration. What does that imply? — Instantnood 19:15, 11 December 2005 (UTC)
That it is the busiest in the PRC already means it is the busiest in Mainland China too for obvious reasons, unless you have trouble decifering this logic. Meanwhile, you are now insisting 全国 = Mainland China?--Huaiwei 19:39, 11 December 2005 (UTC)
Was this airport the busiest in the PRC before August 2005? Does it change the fact that it has been the busiest among airports in mainland China for many years? How would you interpret what 全国 means in that webpage? — Instantnood 20:06, 11 December 2005 (UTC)

The reason why Hong Kong and Macau should be left out is that they are under different domestic administration under the "one country, two systems" approach. In almost all of Wikipedia, "全国" excludes Hong Kong, Macau, and places under ROC administration. Physicq210 01:48, 22 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Terminal 2 to Taiwan?

I must protest at this being in here at all. There is no evidence to suggest that Taiwan or China will be re-united in the near future, in fact there is more evidence to suggest otherwise. I am removing this statement.Segafreak2 14:19, 25 November 2006 (UTC)

Please consider moving all the alternate information in the lead (different languages and scripts etc) and put them in the infobox instead.--Filll 17:21, 22 January 2007 (UTC)

Where can I find a pic of the new and renovated Terminal 1? Bucs2004 20:04, 27 February 2007 (UTC)

Image:LogoCapital.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 06:17, 6 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] In Chaoyang?

I'd like to see the map from which the evidence is taken that the airport is in Chaoyang District. I live in Shunyi not even 10 minutes drive west of the airport and every map I've ever seen marks the Wenyu River as the dividing line between Shunyi and Chaoyang in this area. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Iainsona (talkcontribs) 06:54, 3 May 2008 (UTC)

Accroding to the administrative map of Beijing [2], the Beijing Capital Airport is located in an enclave of Chapyang District, that is, it is enclosed by Shunyi District, but governed by Chaoyang District. The name of this administrative division is 'Capital Airport Street'. --115.130.7.63 (talk) 22:52, 29 August 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Removed paragraph about CO and AA flights to Beijing Capital Airport

I don't see reason why it should appear as the first paragraph in the Terminals, airlines and destinations section. The information is included in the table of all airlines serving the airport. Zhxlier (talk) 19:49, 25 March 2010 (UTC)zhxlier
