Pumping Up Burley Footballs in the UK..
I have just bought a brand new Burley Size 3 for 11-13 yr olds and can't pump it up. I live in the UK and the valve sizes of balls here ssem to be smaller. The inserts (screwed into the pump itself) fir the bladder valve tooe asily and when I pump the air just escapes back out again. I have tried putting vaseline in and around the valve to stop air escaping but to no gain.
Can anyone throw some light on this? Are the bladder valves in AR footballs different to other codes? Are there international standards. Or is there just a trickj to pumping up new balls for the first time?

Where ever bicycle hand and foot pumps are sold, you should be able to obtain the little metal fitting for using the pump to blow up a footy. Works with basket balls and soccer balls and Rugby balls too. petedavo 04:36, 26 January 2007 (UTC)
