Does anyone have an idea why a carbodiimide is not called a carbodiimine? The structure would suggest the latter, not?

Pourrais-je avoir le mécanisme complet de la formation d'un amide par le carbodiimide? c'est important et urgent. Merci d'avance

1. I don't think that DCC decomposes at 34 degrees? That would really make it very unstable, no?
