[edit] Requested move

Charrua -> Charrúa need to be reversed. At the moment the main page is Charrua with a redirect from Charrúa. It should be the other way around. I'd do it myself but I'm afraid of losing the page history. I am happy to fix redirects, though, if someone leaves me a message on my Talk page. Mona-Lynn 23:03, 24 July 2005 (UTC)

It was requested that this article be renamed but there was no consensus for it be moved. violet/riga (t) 18:09, 4 August 2005 (UTC)

I requested this move because it would make the spelling of the word correct in Spanish. I realize that the Charrúa were not a Spanish-speaking people; however, their former territories are located in a Spanish-speaking country, and in contemporary times most discussions of the Charrúa would take place in Spanish. The diacritical mark reflects the way that the word gets pronounced today and follows Spanish conventions. Mona-Lynn 02:19, 28 July 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Charrúa with the accent

I'm uruguayan and I can tell that the correct naming is Charrúa. As for the naming in english, it shouldn't vary because it comes from the spanish name.
