This whole thing is wrong folks...all wrong. Some of the pictures shown are not of Bel Airs, but of 210 and 150's. They look the same except the 210 and 150 has a "post" in between the side window and back window. The Bel Air has no post between the windows. Also, the Bel Air has a few more options like carpet and AC, over the 210 and 150, but other than that is essensially the same car.

Also, many of the cars in movies that are listed, were not Bel Airs...like American Graffiti, which was a black 210 '1955 chevy that Harrison Ford drove, not a Bel Air. I changed that part to "tri-fives" instead of "Bel Airs", since the 1955, 56, and 57 chevys were known as the "tri fives". Thats what is famous, not nessacarily the "Bel Air" per say. In fact, most people who build these cars and restore them, prefer the 210 or 150 over the Bel Air! But if this is going to be about only 'Bel Airs", then it should be right. Frankly, I think it should be scrapped, and a new one started about the chevy "Tri-Fives" (55,56,57). I dont see where an artical about only "Bel Airs" makes any sense, since Bel Airs are only 210's, but with more options and no post.

So the whole thing needs to be repaired but I dont have time right now to do it...so if someone else could that knows what Im talking about it would be appreciated. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.159.39.142 (talkcontribs)

Further concerns about the photographs used with this story (e.g., custom photos used in lieu of factory stock examples) are listed further down on this page. That said, a Bel-Air two-door sedan (models that had a post between the front and rear cab sections) was available for sale; in addition, air conditioning was available, but seldom ordered. [edit] Photos

Several of the photographs included with this article are inappropriate, as they depict customized versions of the car. Yes, I realize that the 1955-1956-1957 Bel Air is very popular with customizers, and if they were to be used in a section of the article talking about their popularity with customizers, then fine. However, I believe that Wikipedia articles about cars should use pictures depicting the factory stock vehicle; whether these are factory promotional pictures or good pictures of restored vehicles, that's up to the contributor. I'd like to see an editor remove the cutsomized car pics and replace them with factory stock representations. And represent all eras of the car, if possible (it wouldn't have to be every year, but you get the idea). [[Briguy52748 (talk) 01:23, 18 January 2008 (UTC)]]

I can only agree, why not use one of the photos of stock cars present in the article, instead of the customized one on top? 189.146.65.78 (talk) 18:39, 3 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] CR 1975 review

I intend to do a little more research on Consumer Reports' report on the 1975 Chevrolet Bel-Air once I get to the library, but I seem to recall reading that same article and, although I believe the previous contributor is correct in stating the article's suggestion for buyers to defer to the costlier Impala, the testers also stated that the Bel-Air was a competent vehicle that tested well.
