[edit] 'Back, Sack (Sac) and Crack'

What happened to this information?

[edit] incorrect information

Beckham was the fourth englishman to play for Real Madrid, the missing 3rd englishman was Michael Owen - not mentioned in the text. 72.207.62.72 (talk) 19:43, 20 November 2011 (UTC)

Beckham played centre-midfield in United's FA Cup final win over Newcastle United and for the 1999 UEFA Champions League Final against Bayern Munich, since United's first string centre-midfielders Paul Scholes and Roy Keane were suspended for the match.

That is incorrect, Beckham didn't not play central midfield in this game.

Roy Keane was not suspended and played the first 10 minutes before being injured and replaces by Teddy Sheringham.

Paul Scholes, like Keane, was no suspended and infact scored the second goal of the game.

Awful.

Don't know how to change it. Some else do it.

I'll remove the bit about the FA Cup final because it looks like it was ham-fistedly shoved in by a rank amateur. However, Beckham did play centre-mid after Keane was subbed; Sheringham came on for Keane, Beckham moved to centre-mid and Solskjaer moved to the right wing. So actually, Beckham did play centre-mid for the majority of the 1999 FA Cup Final. – PeeJay 02:31, 11 July 2011 (UTC)

A hacking Twitter/tweet rumor. See the "Personal History" section below. Charles Edwin Shipp (talk) 01:33, 22 November 2011 (UTC)

[edit] Photos

There are way too many photos here. It makes it more like a Tiger Beat article than an encyclopedia piece. Every sections seems to have a different image of Beckham on the field. I believe that wikipedia guidelines caution against needless photos. PurpleChez (talk) 03:57, 28 July 2011 (UTC)

I counted 11 photos. All but one are generic photos of Beckham playing. Two are fairly wide angle shots, in which he is little more than a big dot. In contrast the article on Joe Namath has a single picture in the info box. PurpleChez (talk) 04:00, 28 July 2011 (UTC)
What's wrong with that? If they're good pictures, why not add them? It's not like they've been consolidated into a gallery at the bottom of the page; they've been spread around fairly well, IMO. The bad ones could be deleted, but most of them look pretty good. – PeeJay 21:10, 28 July 2011 (UTC)
Most look fine. It's just that after a few good photos an additional five or ten don't add anything. Most are just sort of generic. I counted eleven photos of Mrs. Windsor in the entire article on Queen Elizabeth II, but there was at least a lot of variety. And, as I said, I think that there is a Wikipedia policy against unnecessary or excessive use of photos...but I'm not sure.... PurpleChez (talk) 15:38, 24 August 2011 (UTC)
Ask yourself: "If you please the WP readers, do you please the WP editors?" . . . Charles Edwin Shipp (talk) 15:45, 21 November 2011 (UTC) . . . Hopefully, YES!
A truly emotional photo I would like to see added (if someone can find it) is David Beckham and his sons right after winning 2011 NSL cup. They ran up, David gave a rub to the head of his tallest, eldest son, his youngest ran and hugged his Dad's legs. WP needs videos. Charles Edwin Shipp (talk) 01:30, 22 November 2011 (UTC)

[edit] Formatting

It seems that the footnote in the Statistics Section has affected the subsequent text size. Derekjc (talk) 13:18, 8 November 2011 (UTC)

[edit] Personal Info-Sept 2011 rumours

Section needs to be updated to reflect that he in fact did not die in a crash. Paragraph appears to have been written in the present tense, as the event unfolded. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kevadian (talkcontribs) 18:36, 21 November 2011 (UTC)

Thanks for the tip. I have shortened the paragraph and added that Beckham wins yet again. Charles Edwin Shipp (talk) 01:23, 22 November 2011 (UTC)

[edit] 2012 — Staying with Galaxy in L.A.

Breaking news in Los Angeles this morning (2012-JAN-03) is that David Beckham is staying with the Galaxy. "Beckham does not want to uproot [his] family from Los Angeles" http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/transfer-news/David-Beckham-closing-in-on-new-LA-Galaxy-deal-despite-personal-call-from-PSG-boss-Carlo-Ancelotti-article848537.html . . . Charles Edwin Shipp (talk) 16:45, 3 January 2012 (UTC)

Here's another link today: http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2012/jan/03/leonardo-david-beckham-paris-stgermain?newsfeed=true . . . . Charles Edwin Shipp (talk) 16:45, 3 January 2012 (UTC)

The only certain fact at the minute is that Beckham will not be joining Paris Saint-Germain. Discussions between Beckham and PSG have concluded and the only current negotiations are between Beckham and LA Galaxy, but he still may join another club. – PeeJay 17:09, 3 January 2012 (UTC)

[edit] Armani Underwear and H & M Underwear Ad Campaigns

Why is there no mention of the successful David Beckham Armani Underwear Ad Campaign or the the current H & M Underwear Ad Campaign featuring David Beckham? The article mentions his fragrance ads but no mention of the Armani and H & M ads. Caden cool 04:12, 11 January 2012 (UTC)
