[edit] WQUXGA?

Is WQUXGA 3,840x2,400 resolution accidentally forgotten about? Yurivict (talk) 06:16, 12 September 2011 (UTC)

Graphic_display_resolutions#WQUXGA (3840×2400). Indrek (talk) 17:00, 12 September 2011 (UTC)
Hm, this is the different article. This one (Display resolution) lists resolutions and doesn't have WQUXGA. Another questions, obviously, is why they are different articles. Shouldn't they be merged? Yurivict (talk) 19:19, 12 September 2011 (UTC)
Actually, the other article (Graphic display resolutions) lists the different resolutions, and has WQUXGA as I pointed out. This one explains what display resolution is all about and thus needn't list them all (indeed, WQUXGA isn't the only one missing from it). So there's no need to merge the two articles IMHO. [edit] QFHD?

In the Steam survey table the entry for QFHD states that it has a resolution of 2560x1440, however that is the resolution for WQHD; QFHD is 3840x2160. So either the stated resolution in the table is wrong or the entry should be for WQHD instead of QFHD.Terminal Shift (talk) 12:31, 29 November 2011 (UTC)

The Steam survey itself lists resolutions, so the name in the article is wrong. I've fixed it, and updated the table to October 2011 stats. Indrek (talk) 17:46, 29 November 2011 (UTC)

"Note that the use of the word resolution here is a misnomer, though common."

This does not seem correct. The reference here is whole "screen", not the physical dimensions of the screen. You can have a very large screen viewed from a distance with high resolution, even though the pixel density may by only one per cm. Conversly, a small mobile phone display might have very low resolution (e.g. 200 x 200) despite the pixel density being very small.

Our eyes adjust to make a screen a screen, hence, resolution in terms of pixels per screen rather than pixels per unit length is more appropriate. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 123.220.82.107 (talk) 14:20, 30 November 2011 (UTC)
