This is a reasonable article, but a few things can be improved:

• "Hermann soon began a correspondence with Fritz Bauer, chief prosecutor for the West German state of Hesse .... Bauer knew that Germany, served by former employees of the Nazi regime, would do little to serve justice to Eichmann. He contacted Israeli officials..." - this doesn't really make sense. If he knew that Germany wouldn't prosecute Eichmann, then why did he correspond with Bauer? Maybe he only came to that conclusion after corresponding with Bauer, in which case the wording should be changed. In any case Germany did prosecute some former Nazis so this should be given as Hermann's opinion (or maybe it was Bauer's opinion?) rather than as a fact that he "knew".
• Eichmann's appeal is not mentioned, but it should be.
• "The trial caused huge international controversy" but why? The nature of the controversy should be explained, and also the related rift between Israel and Argentina.
• A lot went on behind the scenes in this trial, including direct involvement of the government in how the trial was conducted. For example, it was a government decision to admit a lot of testimony about the Holocaust that had nothing to do with Eichmann. The trial was seen as an opportunity to educate the world about the Holocaust. Such government interference was of doubtful legality.

Merger proposal

I propose to merge Eichmann Trial into Adolf Eichmann. While an Eichmann Trial article may be useful, the trial itself is best explained in the context of Eichmann's life and crimes. The Eichmann biography article is better formatted, researched, cited, and annotated, and the current Trial article is lacking and unlikely to be properly updated, given its low priorities in its related WikiProjects pages. An Eichmann Trial page could simply redirect to the Trial subsection of the Eichmann biography page. Wuhbecca (talk) 14:48, 24 February 2021 (UTC)
