I updated the term "fifteen countries of the EU" to twenty-five, on the basis that European directives automatically apply to the 10 new EU members also.

I may be wrong.

You're not wrong. However, there are a few exceptions, but these exceptions apply not to these directives. 86.56.0.159 11:07, 1 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] May not apply within countries

I don't have a specific reference, but as I understant it, the directive does not apply to mobility within a country, for example a lawyer moving from England to Scotland. Psnae 03:01, 24 June 2006 (UTC)


A new European Directive, sweeping up 89/48 and 92/51 came into effect in the second half of 2006 - the entry needs updating (;-))...
