Can an executor also be a beneficiary? Does an executor take 20% off-the-top for his services, after the will is read or probated? When there are two grandsons are both entitled equally if said so in the will or can the executor administer in his own discretion. The grandboys are the only living and inheriting persons. Is there a legal age for each to inherit as one is 15 yrs. old & the other is 25 yrs. old from different mothers and a deceased father. The grandmother is in a quandry about her executor.
[edit] Check for Accuracy: Duty of Executor to offer will for probat
I put in the bit about the executor being the person to offer the will for probate. If there are jurisdictions where this is not so, please indicate. Ellsworth 01:06, 6 Feb 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Executor Abuse
My grandfather passed over a year and 1/2 ago and since my mother died before he did my uncle has become the executor. My understanding he is held accountable to provide us beneficiares (my mother's 3 children) with bank statement, maintain property, and other duties. My uncle has done none of these but pay certain taxes, insurance and utility for house. However, he has written checks to himself from the estate account and provided no accounting statements. What are our rights to dispute the lack of failure to his duties? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.42.127.169 (talk) 17:04, 26 January 2009 (UTC)
