[edit] The list of related subjects?
The list of related subjects is extremely pious, diabetes type 2 and diet? It's not really related to this article about cuisine and skews the article toward a particular mindset, not fast food per se. --94.195.193.43 (talk) 19:51, 25 April 2010 (UTC)
[edit] Just a thought
I think you should also mention Chinese Fast Food, especially since there is a long history of urbanization and such food, particularly things like 串. The current article ignores traditional forms of fast food outside England, France, and Rome.

- I agree. The article mentions the popina as a sort of distant precursor, but not the thermopolium, possibly an even closer analogue, if not forerunner, of the modern fast food restaurant. Fish sauces such as garum and liquamen could be compared to tomato ketchup (which was, after all, named after and inspired by an Asian type of fish sauce) and other flavour enhancers, functionally at least. (Of course we should not drive the comparisons too far, lest we end up with a Flintstones version of Ancient Rome. But similar needs of urban dwellers certainly led to similar solutions already long before the modern area.) However, I feel not sufficiently knowledgeable about Roman history and archaeology, much less the aspects concerning daily life, to dare edit the article accordingly. --Florian Blaschke (talk) 22:59, 1 May 2011 (UTC)
