--82.198.22.2 10:25, 25 June 2006 (UTC)Submitted by Brian Gubb on the official Liverpoolfc.tv message boards, it's to be sung to the tune of Abba's 'Fernando' and goes a little bit like this...

[edit] Untitled

There was someone in the box tonight He shines so bright Fernando

He was scoring goals for you and me For LFC Fernando

When he pulls on a shirt we dont lose That you can bet

Come on singalong his name again He's scored again Fernando

Kop Fact: Abba released 'Fernando' as a single just two months before Morientes was born.

Bring it on UTD!!! sars 21:15, Jan 12, 2005 (UTC)

Didn't he win the Champions League with Liverpool too? Or doesn't that count?

It doesn't count - he had already played CL for Real that year and a player can only represent one club in the CL per year, so he wasn't included in the Liverpool CL squad. Poulsen 09:24, 2 March 2006 (UTC)

Ah, okay thanks Poulsen. I wasn't sure because I knew he had played the preliminar CL with Real Madrid, but only the two previous games in summer before the competition really started (you know what I mean?), and I didn't know if that counted or not as playing the CL and thus not being eligible for playing CL with another team. Thanks again.

I've removed the following:

It seems that Morientes is not suited for the rough English Premier League, as he has failed to find the net between December 2005 and mid-March 2006. His GPA is not as high as when he was playing for Real Madrid.

It simply seems too POV. All players have a period of adaptation at a new team (look at Zidane when he first started playing for Real Madrid, for example!). It's okay to mention he may not be having such a hot start, and put his current stats, but to go ahead and say he may not be suited for the 'rough' English Premier League is just a matter of opinion, I believe. There has to be a better way to express how he still hasn't adapted to a new team and how his stats are lower than usual. Comments on this? Raystorm 22:10, 21 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Picture

This article needs a new picture; the current one still shows Morientes from when he played for Liverpool. It's been half a year now since he left.

New picture needed? He has left Liverpool for 3 years already --Xaiver0510 (talk) 17:42, 20 March 2009 (UTC)

The Spanish don't seem as keen as the English wikipedia community. I suppose we'll just have to wait until some kind valenciano does the work... Sillyfolkboy (talk) 14:15, 21 March 2009 (UTC)

As he no longer plays, we should use a picture of him in the club he is most know for having played for, Real Madrid. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 85.166.204.195 (talk) 19:19, 31 August 2010 (UTC)
