[edit] Deletions??
Why were the following mass-deletions made? [1] [2] Should these be re-instated? - Pete C ✍ 21:50, 23 July 2005 (UTC)
- They don't look very encyclopaedic to me, tbh... --Kiand 19:20, 28 July 2005 (UTC)
I dont agree with deleting geography section I think it is good. For the record look at a map and you'll see that Cabra and Ashtown are due south and Glasnevin is southeast, and in-between places like Ballygall and Glasnevin North (Finglas East) dont exist and I know this because I work in An Post. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Dotsey (talk • contribs) 13:56, 2 July 2010 (UTC)
[edit] Linkfarm/directory issues
A few weeks ago a number of unexplained reverts occurred. I raised with the relevant editor at the time. However, as I received no response I'm going to re-raise here before taking action. To my eye, these reversions introduced several dead and irrelevant links, and (re)introduced content which is not within the relevant guidelines. (Specifically the changes effectively created a business and clubs directory in the middle of the article.) As arbitrary directories (of services, sports clubs or whatever) are not recommended, and long lists of web links are outside the guidelines, I'm tempted to remove. Unless anyone has any other thoughts on this, I'm going to replace with prose (again). Guliolopez (talk) 12:07, 16 September 2011 (UTC)
- Support proposal. Laurel Lodged (talk) 13:15, 16 September 2011 (UTC)
- OK.
Done. Guliolopez (talk) 21:22, 16 September 2011 (UTC)
- OK.
[edit] People list
Why was William Rowan Hamiltons name removed from this page? He lived in Dunsink and Dunsink is afterall a part of Finglas. —The preceding text was posted on Finglas by 137.191.227.58 (talk⋅contribs).
- It was removed on the basis that no cite or evidence was provided that WRH lived in Finglas. Certainly he lived at the Dunsink observatory for a time. However, Dunsink wouldn't have been considered part of Finglas at that time (being 2+ miles from Finglas village), and possibly arguably not strictly part of Finglas now. (Related article describes Dunsink as a townland near Finglas.) Guliolopez (talk) 12:43, 13 January 2012 (UTC)
