[edit] Places called Gaylord

Only in America ;)

[edit] Origin of the name?

Why is it called Gaylord?--64.121.1.55 00:38, 24 November 2006 (UTC)

Perhaps this will give you some answer: From a surname which was derived from Old French gaillard "high-spirited". http://www.behindthename.com/php/view.php?name=gaylord El Ucca 10:48, 21 December 2006 (UTC)

Theres a sign in front of the courthouse that explains the name. Gaylord was a laywer for a railroad company. The town was originally called Barnes but was changed to Gaylord in the late 1800s.

[edit] Commercial link

I note that 24.180.198.126 continues to put in a link to a website that starts with the heading

"REAL ESTATE IS MY BUSINESS"

There is nothing else on that website. It is a commercial link, pure and simple. It does NOT belong in Wikipedia.

Moreover, he/she removes links to the Chamber of Commerce, which actually has lots of community informaiton links, and to the airport. This is very strange.

It is wrong.
