Correct Name

Well, there seems to be some disagreement about his name. The DoCB citation gives Gilbert John Murray-Kynynmound Elliot. His surname is clearly Elliot, NOT Elliot-Murray-Kynynmound - The DoCB citation is not incorrect in this regard either as this is supported also by the Governor General of Canada website entry, and numerous other sources. For instance the English National portrait gallery invariably calls him Gilbert Elliot. There are admittedly many references to his name appearing the other way as well - what is going on here, did he change it at some point? Fawcett5 13:00, 10 May 2005 (UTC)

The family sometimes shortens the surname to "Elliot", but "Elliot" is definitely the first part, and it's all hyphenated. See the current Earl, for instance. It was changed from Elliot, but by the 1st Earl, not the 4th. Proteus (Talk) 15:03, 10 May 2005 (UTC)

The Right Honourable??

Once again, I am wondering if this former Governor General of Canada should not have the title of Right Honourable. He was a member of the British Privy Council.
