Though longer than most stubs, this article is in very bad shape, and needs some serious help. The grammar is all but entirely incomprehensible, and some portions are just lists of positions and dates with no prose at all. Once that's fixed, the intro sentence needs to be expanded and turned into a proper summary of Obata's career and his significance; references need to be added as well.
