The history of attacks/fighting at the mosque in the 1990s and 2000s are important, but there isn't much in this article about the mosque itself. Such as: What one would find inside the mosque, what types of services normally take place there, who normally takes care of the mosque, why the mosque is considered to be more important by Shiites and not other Muslims, and more about the history between 1500 and 1991. I might write more about it, but I don't know much else other than what I've read here, and I'm sure someone else reading this will probably have more knowledge. -Lorem Ipsum

"the Iranian ruler the Daylamite Fannakhosraw Azod ad Dowleh" Can we get a less foppish spelling on this, so that we can get some background through Google? And is "Iranian" correct in this case--- oe merely trendy? Wetman 10:10, 27 Aug 2004 (UTC)

What is the stance of the Islamic community on militants taking refuge inside a mosque? Are they permitted to use mosques as military bases?

What is the stance of the Islamic community on armies attacking militants who take refuge inside mosques?

Who is the desecrator:

  1. the armed men who take refuge inside the mosque and use it as a base to attack enemies; or,
  2. those who attack the armed man inside the mosque?

I've heard that in international law, both sides to a conflict should avoid damaging holy places. But I've also heard that if soldiers from one side occupy a "holy place", then the other side is no longer bound by international law. That is, the holy place loses its protected status and becomes a legitimate target.

Where in the Wikipedia can I find information about these matters? --Uncle Ed 18:14, 27 Aug 2004 (UTC)

Can't this be added to the "See also" part of the main page? Or under a heading of "Pictures of the Shrine"?iFaqeer | Talk to me! 22:46, Oct 21, 2004 (UTC)

I edited the page, what some tourist website says is immaterial, the fact is that it is the third Holiest place. (By the Way I am Shi'a

What you personally believe is immaterial, the majority of muslims believe that Al Masjid Al Aqsa is the third. --Maha Odeh (talk) 08:42, 2 March 2008 (UTC)
