[edit] The beginning

Should the Indian Rebellion of 1857 be considered as the start of the movement itself or merely as a part of the background to the movement (the start of which would then shift to 1885?) Regards, SBC-YPR (talk) 10:48, 30 October 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Any Further Revisions?

I noticed this article has not had any major edits in about a week. I am not involved with this page, and am just passing by doing a research project, but I was wondering rather or not the reconstruction tag should be removed. Like I said, I don't work with this page, so I'll let someone who does make that decision, but I figured I should make the suggestion. Fact-of-the-matter (talk) 16:19, 19 November 2009 (UTC)

[edit] An odd statement which is unsupported; removal/reconstruction?

Whilst quite a bit of this article doesn't appear to be referenced/supported, this addition strikes me as quite odd:

"Gandhi, a stranger to India and its politics had arrived after twenty years on 6 January 1915,"

I'm not sure who made this edit, but it implies Gandhi knew nothing of India, which unless another source can support it, I doubt is true. He was born in India, and although he had been away from India from quite some time, it's still quite an extraordinary claim, particularly considering the fact that Gandhi's page suggests that Gandhi grew up in India and only left shortly before his 19th birthday. I know this seems quite anal, but I think as an opening statement in that section it gives the reader quite the wrong impression.

Please correct me if I am wrong...92RedRevolver (talk) 14:48, 1 March 2011 (UTC)

Gandhi himself made similar statements upon his return to India - it had been so long, and the country had changed much since he left. He did some sight-seeing in India to re-orient himself - I think the statement is ok and is clear in its meaning. HammerFilmFan (talk) 23:27, 15 August 2011 (UTC) HammerFilmFan
