I know absolutely nothing about this island, but I tried to tidy it up a little using the text that was already present. In case someone thinks the text I deleted is salvageable, I'm pasting the article as I found it below: (Walkiped 02:29, 3 Dec 2004 (UTC))
The main city in Karimun Island is called Tanjung Balai Karimun. This name have a meaning as a meeting place with fun and happiness. Total amoun island in this region is more than 48 island with total area is more than 275 square kilometre. In past, it was the destination of the foreign traders and the Malay Kings. Geographicly, Karimun is definitely strategic. This island is nearest to the Malaka Straits and becoming the international main route for shipping. Economic in Karimun is growth rapidly, with total population in 1997 is 155.000 lives. But, Karimun is now offer the sex tourism and night life. There are many place that show the main tourism comodity sector. It over 3.000 women were working as a hore in Karimun.
