[edit] Birth date

"19 May 1881 by a posteriori[1]"

What on Earth does that mean? Is anyone born by a priori? 87.112.91.189 (talk) 11:53, 14 October 2011 (UTC)

It means the date of his birth was back-calculated, as the precise date of his birth is not known for certain.Manning (talk) 22:20, 21 November 2011 (UTC)

[edit] POV tag

Someone added a POV tag back in February 2011, I have since removed it.

The tag can be reapplied, but only if it is accompanied by a CLEAR presentation of whatever elements are considered "POV". Empty statements like "this article is biased" are not sufficient evidence to justify a POV tag. Manning (talk) 22:18, 21 November 2011 (UTC)

[edit] Right word?

The text currently says:

the population was largely illiterate and disparate.

Is the intended meaning that the community was composed of "fundamentally different and often incongruous elements"? Sunni, Shia,as well as Sufi? Or Turks, Kurds, and others? Or were the people desperate, as the context suggests?P0M (talk) 05:04, 28 December 2011 (UTC)

[edit] Disinfo about His Origins

I am wondering who has prepared the "Early Life" part. To what end can they dare to claim that he is a so-called "doenmeh"? If every claim can enter Wikipedia, we have to re-write this site from the very beginning. I officially request the moderators to remove that wrong information. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.184.178.130 (talk) 17:50, 7 February 2012 (UTC)

[edit] File:Anitkabir.HB.jpg Nominated for speedy Deletion

Image-x-generic.svg An image used in this article, File:Anitkabir.HB.jpg, has been nominated for speedy deletion at Wikimedia Commons for the following reason: Copyright violations
What should I do?

Don't panic; deletions can take a little longer at Commons than they do on Wikipedia. This gives you an opportunity to contest the deletion (although please review Commons guidelines before doing so). The best way to contest this form of deletion is by posting on the image talk page.

  • If the image is non-free then you may need to upload it to Wikipedia (Commons does not allow fair use)
  • If the image isn't freely licensed and there is no fair use rationale then it cannot be uploaded or used.
  • If the image has already been deleted you may want to try Commons Undeletion Request
