[edit] Documentary

Is Lijang the same place that was the subject of a British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) TV series a few years ago?

I am trying to establish how to get hold of film of that series.

I would be truly grateful for any reply to johnnycohen@blueyonder.co.uk

Yes, it was called "China beyond the Clouds", and was voted one of the 50 greatest documentaries. I've added a link. Moonraker12 (talk) 15:28, 20 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Name

Is the name "Lijiang City" for this page appropriate ? I think it's more of a town than a city ... How about Lijiang (town), Lijiang (Yunnan town) or Lijiang (Yunnan) ? Flammifer 07:30, 7 Jun 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Translation?

"The old town of Lijiang differs from other ancient Chinese cities in architecture, history and the culture of its traditional residents the Naxi people, therefore people there are called 胖金哥 and 胖金妹 (male and female respectively)." What do "胖金哥" and "胖金妹" mean? --Bkkbrad 14:08, 19 April 2007 (UTC)
