Criteria and formatting
This is a list of Eagle Scouts who are considered notable. While many other lists abound, they are usually oriented towards a certain point of view, either positive or negative and generally lack reliable references. This list strives to maintain the fundamental Wikipedia principle of a neutral point of view.
Inclusion
;To be included on the list, the person must:
Removal
* Wikipedia is not censored; deleting an entry simply because they are a "fallen Eagle" advances a point of view not compatible with the aims of Wikipedia.
Formatting
When the article is edited, an editnotice will show above the edit box that gives the instructions for formatting each entry.
Articles
*When updating articles, include the reference and the appropriate categories: Category:Eagle Scouts or Category:Distinguished Eagle Scouts
Sources
*Lists of Eagle Scouts abound on the web: many are inaccurate. Do not use these as citations or a test of notability unless the entry can be independently confirmed.
Editors who are Eagle Scouts
* Editors who desire to identify themselves as Eagle Scout may use one of the userboxes listed at Wikipedia:WikiProject Scouting/Userboxes

This is NOT a "List of Eagle Scouts." By your very page and documentation standards, this is a list of NOTABLE Eagle Scouts. This page needs to be renamed accordingly: "List of Notable Eagle Scouts" Frankly, by any objective standard, it is astonishing that so much attention is given to the notability and veracity of the list, while nobody takes a moment to understand that the LIST ITSELF IS FATALLY AND INCORRECTLY TITLED in Wikipedia.
As entries on this list are verified or unverified, move them to investigated entries and note the reason. Also ensure that Category:Eagle Scouts and Category:Distinguished Eagle Scouts are properly added or removed from the article.
These men have articles and are probably Eagles: I investigated these men, and they do not appear in NESA's Online Eagle Directory:
These men are Eagles but I have not yet added them to the list:

[edit] Today's Featured List
Now that featured lists are on the main page on Mondays, I am going to propose this for August 21, 1912 to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Eagle Scout Award. We need to fill out the following template and choose a representative image. This is a sample. ---— Gadget850 (Ed) talk 11:20, 14 June 2011 (UTC)
Eagle Scout is the highest rank attainable in the Boy Scouting program division of the Boy Scouts of America (BSA). Since it was first awarded in 1912, Eagle Scout has been earned by more than two million young men. The title of Eagle Scout is held for life, thus giving rise to the phrase "Once an Eagle, always an Eagle".
As of 2012, requirements include earning at least 21 merit badges, and demonstrating Scout Spirit, leadership and service and performing an Eagle Scout Service Project. Eagle Scouts are recognized with a medal and badge that visibly recognizes the accomplishments of the Scout. Eagle Palms are a further recognition, awarded for completing additional tenure, leadership and merit badge requirements. (more...)
