[edit] content of article

the text of this article is word by word identical with this one here: http://tripatlas.com/Lord_Kitchener_(calypsonian) how come? Panmaker (talk) 08:04, 9 September 2008 (UTC)

See the bottom of that page. It says, "This article provided by Wikipedia. To edit the contents of this article, click here for original source." James Fryer (talk) 08:50, 9 September 2008 (UTC)

Anon added: In 1952, he married a young Manchester lady called Marjorie Lines (with whom she adopted a son called Tyrone in March 1962). It is unbalanced to include one wife without mentioning the others, so until such time as they can be all added I think this should stay out. Guettarda 19:26, 18 November 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Errol Peru

Is this article about Kitch or about Errol Peru? A friend of Peru seems to be adding content that is not really relevant. James Fryer 08:31, 23 June 2007 (UTC)

Someone, maybe the same friend of Peru, keeps removing the above comment. James Fryer (talk) 14:33, 3 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] wives

as the grandson of Marjorie, i only know of one (i.e her). however, i agree with you. if you want to add infromation about the rest of Kitch's wives, go ahead. i just wanted my family to have a few words in there!

'London is the Place for Me' must surely be added to his list of most famous songs. Not only did it launch his career in Britain, but has come to symbolise the start of the cultural ingegration of West Indian immigrants within England in the late '40s / early '50s.

Over the years the song has grabbed the public's imagination, and fans of the song have even gone as far as creating fanbased videos such as "London is the place for me" <object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/Wp7lZ6L0q3U"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/Wp7lZ6L0q3U" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"></embed></object>

I think Dr. Kitch is his best-known outside Trinidad. I remember a friend had it as a 45 rpm single, with Come Along Meh Boy as the b-side. Ben-w 08:40, 26 May 2006 (UTC)
