I note the use of desmesne. It looks like another spelling of demesne. Laurel Bush 16:04, 31 January 2006 (UTC).
Perhaps mains is a Northumbrian/Scots (language) rendition of demesne? Laurel Bush 17:42, 2 February 2006 (UTC).
