The redirect to this page from "Southern Methodist Church" needs to be eliminated. As noted in the article, there is an ongoing Suthern Methodist Church which dissented from the 1939 merger and considers itself to be the ongoing successor to this body. Rlquall 01:57, 20 Apr 2005 (UTC)

The number of slaves Bishop Andrew eventually aquired is in some debate. The number could be as high as 27, and census reports are not consistant. Also, the method and manner by which he aquired the slaves cannot be proven. Reverend Mommy 01:50, 8 February 2007 (UTC)candlemb

While Duke Divinity School is not a conservative school (in a modern sense) it is not a "progressive" school, particularly in a classical sense. Its narrative theology has a history of going against protestant liberalism and progressive theology. It is really quite orthodox in most of its teaching. I think the last sentence needs to become less subjective.
