[edit] Sentence structure
  • "It is named for Michael Davitt, 19th Century Irish Social campaigner and founder of the National Land League, who officially opened it in 1887."

Who officially opened it? Davitt, or the NLL, or both? This should be two separate sentences, one telling about Davitt, one telling about the opening.

  • "In 1947, the old bridge,"

This implies that you have mentioned a new bridge previously in the article.

How about:

  • "A new bridge was built in 1947 to replace the first Michael Davitt Bridge, which had become to small to accommodate traffic." WikiOn! WikiDon 22:23, 29 May 2005 (UTC)
