I took a closer photo of what I suspect might be a Migrant Hawker than what currently appears on this page. It used to be on the main dragonfly page but since it's not being used anymore there, it might as well be moved here to the specific species.

Can anyone confirm my ID of this insect as a Migrant Hawker? mennonot 23:18, 9 July 2005 (UTC)

Your photo is of a Southern Hawker(Mature male. They look quite similar but the Southern is a much larger hawker than the Migrant and is predominantly green rather than blue. As males mature they aquire the blue stipes on the last segments of the tail.
