Can anyone please add the info bar just like the info bars of other places like Kuala Lumpur?
By using this technique, it's possible to reorganise information in the article like others.

Cleanup needed

This page seems to have been adapted from some city government or tourist office prospectus. It must be cleaned up. In particular, most of the Chinese translations should be removed, or moved to the appropriate articles. All the best, Jorge Stolfi 18:21, 5 March 2006 (UTC)

Controversy?

Why was Miri's elevation to city status controversial? The article doesn't say, and it should. --Commking 06:29, 22 March 2006 (UTC)

City area size

According to Miri City Council web, their jurisdiction covers an area of 997.43 sqkm. i think this is a better figure to use to denote the size of the city in the infobox. 4,707 sqkm is the size of Miri District which is massive. plus i believe most of it are rural area. Unless this article is about district of Miri then its ok i think.

BTW, does anyone know which council administers the rest of Miri District? kawaputra 05:53, 22 March 2007 (UTC)

Earlier History

there are huge gaps in Miri's history:

• What happened between the "Niah Cave" era & when Shell striked oil in Miri?
• What was the government / local authority like before independence?
• Who were the notable individuals in Miri's history? Don't you ever wonder who were those people whose names are on the street signs?
• Where did the name Miri come up?

Pronunciation

I am from Miri. I don't think the name is pronounced as ( /ˈmɪəriː/). It should be ( /ˈmɪriː/). 07 Matthew (talk) 12:22, 2 October 2011 (UTC)
