Mount Perry, situated in Perry Shire, South-east Queensland, Australia, is a historically significant town of approximately 200 residents nestled in a valley near Mount Perry, the area's dominant mountain. With just one shop, one petrol station, one post office, one primary school, one bed-and-breakfast, and one golf course - with sand greens (it's too dry to maintain grass greens) - one could be forgiven for thinking that Mount Perry is dying a slow death like so many other regional townships. Nothing could be further from the truth. Gold mining has stimulated renewed interest in the area, while the popular Mount Perry Races remains a fixture on the calendars of many people in the region.

Mount Perry is about 450km northwest of Brisbane, the capital of Queensland, and about 100km west of Bundaberg
