[edit] Rumours that Owens Park Tower is to be demolished
There have been persistent rumours that OP Tower will be demolished for several years. It seems that this is not planned, and I edited the article to reflect this.
I'm not convinced how reliable they are, but my sources are:

- "It has been confirmed that the notorious Tenement Tower will not demolished [sic] for the time being, as it is being saved in favour of a mass refurbishment programme. Plans to destroy the tower have been continually mooted over the last five years, however plans were laid to rest for the final time after a student focus group, working alongside University accommodation officials, decided that the tower was irreplacable as a hub of student social activity."
(However I could not find the referenced story on the Student Direct website.)
