I strongly agree that this should be merged with "demographics of england". Both are short articles which people are likely to go to for the same information. Other demographic articles have historic population figures included them - I don't see why England should be any different. TastyCakes 07:32, 26 February 2006 (UTC)

How do we remove the nonsense at the bottom of this page ?

The pop for 1348 is given as 3.75 mil and then for 1350 as 2.5 mil. There's a source for the 1348 # but not for the 1350 #. It looks like the 1350 # was just obtained by assuming that the Black Death killed "as much as a third of the population". But I've always understood the 1/3 of pop to be an upper bound. And even if not, did all these people die in the year of Our Lord 1349? Or were the deaths of that 1/3 spread out over a longer period of time? Furthermore, the Black Death was a recurring phenomenon throughout the 14th and 15th centuries which means that either those deaths WERE spread out or that even more people died. There really needs to be some proper sources for this part.69.12.161.254 02:47, 23 August 2007 (UTC)

The population increased between 1911 and 1921, and with WW1 and the Spanish flu, that just cannot be. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Magicana (talkcontribs) 04:37, 17 October 2007 (UTC)
